The new seawall improvements have been finished, so full access to the sands at low tide is again available.
Below is a view of the centre of Dymchurch seafront. This is the next area of development for the new sea defences, with work due to start winter 2008. We understand there will be groynes installed to maintain sand levels and an improved promenade similar to the one already built at St Marys Bay. The slipway seen here has had a lockable barrier erected, probably to encourage the jet skiers to use the new slipway at High Knocke. Dymchurch sea angling club have been given a key, allowing continued tractor access to the foreshore for the launching and recovery of fishing boats.
